Nancy Mannion, Democratic candidate for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 11th district announced, today, the endorsement of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, which represents more than 700,000 workers across Pennsylvania, including in Lancaster and York counties.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO and the more than 700,000 working women and men they represent across our Commonwealth,” Mannion said.

In a letter to Mannion, the union said the endorsement, “is extended in recognition of your consistent support of policies that advance organized Labor’s ongoing efforts to improve the lives of Pennsylvania families.” The letter also encouraged Mannion to continue to focus on, “issues our members care about” – from better pay and benefits to workplace health and safety, high-quality public education, and civil rights.

Pennsylvania AFL-CIO President Angela Ferritto and Secretary-Treasurer Maurice Cobb signed the letter.

“Working families deserve leaders who will fight for fair wages, safe workplaces, affordable healthcare, and secure retirements,” Mannion said, emphasizing her focus on issues that impact union members, and families across central Pennsylvania.

“Thank you to the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO for your trust and support. Together, we can win in November and stand up for Pennsylvania's workers and their families," Mannion said.

The organization is one of many that strongly support Mannion’s campaign.

Other unions endorsing Mannion include IAMAW District 98 (International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers), IBEW Local 222 (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) and the South Central PA UAW CAP Council.
